From 1 to 5 June 2026, the sixth edition of Green Transition Forum 6.0 will take place in Sofia under the motto: “Europe’s Next Chapter – Competitive. Innovative. Secure.”
Organized by Dir.bg, the forum has established itself as a leading European platform for strategic dialogue, bringing together representatives of European institutions, national and local authorities, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and academia. The main focus of the discussions will be Europe’s competitiveness, industrial transformation, energy security, innovation, and the green transition.
Special attention in the program is devoted to regional cooperation in Southeastern Europe, including topics related to energy and transport connectivity, investments, and the development of strategic projects.
As part of the forum, a roundtable dedicated to the development of the energy sector in Southeastern Europe will be held on 1 June 2026. The discussion will focus on energy security, the region’s strategic autonomy, the role of renewable energy sources, and the development of the regulatory framework for accelerating connectivity and investments.
The organizers envisage an active discussion format with short opening remarks followed by an extended debate among participants. After the forum, a summary containing the key messages will be prepared and sent to European and international institutions.
The National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) encourages the participation of municipal representatives, who will have the opportunity to attend all days of the forum. Special emphasis is placed on 4 June – the day dedicated to regions, cohesion policy, financing, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban development, organized jointly with the European Committee of the Regions.
The forum will take place at Sofia Event Center, and registration for participation is open until 20 May 2026.
