The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) is launching a series of regional meetings with stakeholders as part of the preparation of the new territorial cooperation programmes for the 2028–2034 programming period.
The meetings are aimed at representatives of local authorities, cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations, research institutions, and business organisations. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the initial ideas and strategic directions for the new programming period and to share their proposals and recommendations.
The 2028–2034 period is being prepared in the context of a changing European framework for territorial development, which places stronger emphasis on clearly defined objectives, measurable results, and tangible impact from cooperation between regions. The programmes are expected to be more focused and more closely aligned with the specific needs of the territories.
For this reason, the active involvement of stakeholders at the programming stage is particularly important. The regional consultations aim to ensure that the voices of local communities are heard in a timely manner and contribute meaningfully to shaping the future programmes.
Bulgaria is expected to continue its participation in a total of 12 Interreg programmes:
-
As Managing Authority for the programmes with Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Turkey;
-
As National Authority for the programmes with Romania and Greece;
-
As National Contact Point for the programmes “Black Sea Basin”, “Danube Region”, “Euro-MED”, “Interreg Europe”, “URBACT”, “ESPON”, and “INTERACT”.
