The European Urban Initiative has announced a new call for Peer Reviews. It will be open until November 13, 2024 and aims to enable municipalities to improve their sustainable development strategies, acquire new skills and build long-lasting connections in Europe.
The municipalities allowed by Bulgaria for the two roles "city under review" or "reviewer" are the 10 large urban municipalities under Art. 11 of Regulation (EU) 021/1058. At the same time, candidates for reviewers can be employees of municipal administrations from all urban municipalities with a degree of urbanization DEGURBA 1 or 2 regardless of their population. Participation is suitable for:
Municipalities working on the development or implementation of strategies or programs for sustainable development (e.g. PIRO)
Finding the best ways to achieve the goals of multi-sectoral policies, managing with the participation of different stakeholders and promoting processes led by local communities?
Applying for the City under Review role is an ideal opportunity to get advice on sustainable development strategies and programs from peers and experts at EU level.

You share your experience and learn from others: If you are a practitioner in the field of urban development willing to share your experience and meet colleagues from other European cities, this is your chance.
By joining the group of reviewers, you share your experience in implementing integrated and locally-based urban strategies within the framework of cohesion policy.

All interested cities are invited to participate in the information session, which will be held on October 22, 2024, from 11:30 to 13:00. The main details of the invitation will be presented during the event, but most importantly, that you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas in your language with a representative of the Contact Unit from Bulgaria (NAMRB).
