The mayor of Kardzhali, Erol Mümyun, continues an emblematic tradition for the municipality

The mayor of the municipality of Kardzhali and member of the Board of Directors of NSORB, Errol Myumyun, did not betray the tradition, which has become a symbol of goodwill and respect, and invited the regional mufti Basri Eminefendi and the parish priest Father Peter Garena to coffee. This year they were joined by regional governor Nikola Chanev.

Erol Mümyun congratulated the national holiday on March 3 to all Kardjalians: "On this national holiday of Bulgaria, we continue this tradition created over the years. Namely, to drink this traditional coffee on the occasion of March 3, I as the mayor of Kardzhali, the regional mufti Basri Eminefendi and Father Petar Garena. The regional governor Nikola Chanev is with us for the first time this year.

His presence today will not be episodic, one-off, because his place, as a representative of the state, is here among us", said the mayor of Kardzhali.

In his words, when the local government, the representative of the state and the representatives of religions are together, it clearly shows the model of tolerance, togetherness and friendship, for which Kardzhali is known in Bulgaria and around the world.

In turn, the regional governor Nikola Chanev congratulated the people of Kardzhal on the occasion of the national holiday of Bulgaria, March 3. He thanked the mayor for the invitation and quoted an ancient proverb, according to which the human soul does not need tea or coffee, it needs a good story and dialogue. "I thank Mr. Myumyun for turning this March 3rd tradition into the beginning of a dialogue that we started a few months ago and which, I believe, will benefit the citizens of Kardzhali," Chanev said.

"The mufti and I are calm and happy that the tradition of the March 3rd coffee continues. We also send this message to the people - let them be calm that things continue, nothing is destroyed, but God grant that it will be built up", said the parish priest, Father Peter Garena.

The regional mufti Basri Eminefendi also gave a greeting on the occasion of March 3: "For years we have been gathering at this March 3 coffee - coffee of tolerance. This is how we show that we are united, that we are together, despite our differences. I am glad that in Kardzhali, the ethnic communities have been living in a spirit of peace and understanding for years, and I very much hope that we will preserve these values of ours in the future", said Basri Eminefendi.
