The mayor of the Turkish city of Adyaman Abdurrahman Tutdere is visiting Montana. The authorities in both cities are implementing a common European project related to climate change under the Bulgarian-Turkey cross-border cooperation program.

The five-member delegation, led by Tutdere, met today with the mayor of the municipality of Montana and member of the board of the NSORB Zlatko Zhivkov. In the project, the two municipalities are partnering with two non-governmental organizations - the Association "Technological Institute of Aquaculture" from the Bulgarian side and the Association of Internet Publishers from the Turkish side. The project participants have analyzed and evaluated the environmental protection legislation in both countries and the regulations at the local level. On this basis, a comparative analysis and action plans were prepared in the two municipalities, which include good European practices. By the end of the year, a website will be created with information about the studies, decisions and actions. A delegation from Montana will visit Adyaman. In parallel, 7-day summer camps for 30 children will be organized in both cities. In green schools, they will learn about the protection of biodiversity and the biobalance of nature - water, soil and air.

At his meeting with the mayor Zhivkov, he thanked for the help from Bulgaria, which the country provided to us after the devastating earthquakes last year in the Adyaman district. Tutdere expressed his position for the continuation of cooperation between the two municipalities and joint work on other projects.
