For the second year in a row, the Municipality of Kardzhali will hold Friendship Days, including a rich program of sports and cultural events. This was announced at a press conference by Mayor Erol Mumun.
The festival will begin on June 14 and will last until July 27, with the emphasis on the participation of local performers and artists, but guest performances are also planned.
“The beginning will be set on June 14 in the City Garden, where we will celebrate the Day of the Bulgarian Spirit. The celebration will begin with a grand opening, followed by a pageant with the participation of local amateur groups. We will enjoy delicious traditional dishes, exhibitions of Bulgarian folk costumes and household items,” Mayor Erol Mumun announced the program for the Friendship Days at a briefing.
For thrill seekers, there will be wall climbing as part of the “Gravity Challenge” initiative, a demonstration of aerial yoga, and for the little ones – a fun bubble show.
Throughout the month, sports and cultural events will alternate, aimed at both children and the whole family.
On June 24, the Midsummer Day custom will be recreated.
“This program was created with everyone in mind – children, youth and adults. It is a message of peace, understanding between ethnicities and cultures and the importance of friendship in the modern world,” Mayor Myumyun emphasized.
The sports program will intensify from June 21, when a children’s football tournament will be held with the participation of all sports clubs from the municipality. On June 28 and 29, a mini-football tournament will also be held, with the winners receiving the “Mayor’s Cup”. The same trophy will also be awarded to the winners of the International Tennis Tournament, which starts on June 25.
In July, a rich cultural program will be implemented with theater performances by Kardzhali and visiting troupes, a summer cinema for children and families, as well as concerts by local and foreign performers.
“The Days of Friendship aim to leave a mark and remind that Kardzhali is a city of spirit, traditions and open hearts,” added Mayor Erol Mumun.
