A rich cultural program, 3D mapping show and 3 musical evenings await us at the OPEN BUZLUDZHA 2025 festival

A rich cultural program, an impressive 3D mapping show and 3 magical musical evenings.

From August 15 to 17, Buzludzha is transformed on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Buzludzha Project”. Free admission.

There are only a few days left until the start of the fifth edition of the “Open Buzludzha” festival from August 15 to 17, which will be held in front of the monument itself with free admission on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Buzludzha Project”. The event starts on Friday at 11:00 and ends with sunset at 21:00 on Sunday. For three days and two nights, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of cultural activities, an impressive 3D mapping show and magical musical evenings in the heart of the Balkan Mountains.

Visitors will be able to join the festival game “A Story to Share” - 10 thematic Buzludzha experiences that will introduce them to part of the team behind the initiative. Each experience reveals a different aspect of the cause - art, constructions, history, nature, personal memories, vision. Thus, visitors will be able to arrange their own mosaic, pour a concrete mold or build the structure on the roof of Buzludzha. In addition, for the first time, some of the interviews from the “Unwritten Stories” campaign will be screened, which documents the personal memories and experiences of people whose fate is connected to the monument. There will be various activities for children throughout the day.

As the sun sets behind the peaks of the Balkan Mountains, visitors can enjoy four skilled DJs on the Sunset Stage with electronic sounds. And then at 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, the festival will welcome the night with an impressive 3D mapping show, which will combine the best of the performances to date. This year, for the first time, the light show meets the power of electric guitars. Four talented bands in the style of pop, rock and punk will play in front of the monument itself - “Samuel Manuelyan Project” and “Scarlet” on Friday, “Mono and the Stereos” and “Innerglow” on Saturday. The musical program will continue until 2:00 AM with DJ parties. The final highlight of the festival will be the classical concert of the string quartet from the Ars Nova Chamber Formation on August 17 at 5:00 PM.

“We are creating an exceptional event that has no analogues in terms of concept and experience. It turns Buzludzha into a stage for contemporary art and reveals part of the potential of the building, which can be a global cultural destination,” shares arch. Dora Ivanova from the Buzludzha Project Foundation – the organizer of the event.

During the official opening of the festival on Friday, August 15 at 8:30 p.m., the awards will be presented to the finalists of the photo contest “Buzludzha through the Lens of Time”, organized by the Kazanlak Municipality. The works reveal different perspectives on the building and will be presented in the form of an exhibition during the event.

The festival is held with the institutional support of the Stara Zagora Regional Administration, Kazanlak Municipality and the Shipka-Buzludzha National Park-Museum.
