The helicopter landing site on the premises of the “Dr. Tota Venkova” Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment in Gabrovo has now been licensed and is ready for operation.
The hospital helipad is designated for servicing helicopter flights for the needs of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). The presence of the helipad provides an additional opportunity for the timely transportation of patients with polytrauma, cardiovascular, cerebrovascular diseases, and more. The time needed to reach a medical facility is among the critical factors for saving human lives and preserving their quality, the hospital reminds.
The landing site was built under the project “Engineering – design, construction supervision, and implementation of construction works related to the building of a hospital helipad on the premises of ‘Dr. Tota Venkova’ Hospital in Gabrovo.”
The overall aim of the project is to provide modern and qualified emergency medical care within the so-called “golden hour,” with subsequent transport of patients and injured individuals, when necessary, to and from any geographical point within the country.
