Blagoevgrad: a specialized unit for COVID-19 patients to be organized



The Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Pneumo-Phthisiatric Diseases / Former Tube Dispenser / in Blagoevgrad reorganizes one of its department for the treatment of patients with coronavirus. The decision was made by the Crisis Headquarter of Blagoevgrad Municipality on the proposal of Mayor Rumen Tomov. Activities for reorganizing and structuring of the new unit have already begun. The new unit will be in a separate part of the building with its own entrance. A high-quality compressed air station was also installed yesterday.
The capacity of the ward is 15 beds for the sick and it will work according to the needs. The hospital staff is ready to provide adequate assistance to patients with pulmonary complications. The other three hospitals on the territory of Blagoevgrad Municipality - MBAL-Blagoevgrad, “PULS” MBAL and “Saint Mina” Hospital will also be included as needed, the municipal press centre reported.
Yesterday a decision was made by the Regional Operational Headquarters to establish a field hospital in the building of Macedonia Park in Blagoevgrad if necessary. The District Headquarters considered the site appropriate as the building is isolated and can be easily guarded.
